Sister taxa: Reigechimys octodontiformis, Reigechimys simplex
Type specimen: GHUNLPam 306, a mandible. Its type locality is Laguna Chillhué, which is in a Huayquerian fluvial-lacustrine siltstone in the Cerro Azul Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: scansorial herbivore
Distribution:
• Huayquerian of Argentina (4 collections)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
