Sister taxon: Anadasypus hondanus

Type specimen: MEPN 4363, an osteoderm. Its type locality is RHM Locality 4, which is in a Tortonian lacustrine deltaic horizon in the Letrero Formation of Ecuador.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore

Distribution: found only at RHM Locality 4
