Sister taxon: Sichuanchelys palatodentata
Type specimen: ZDM 3014, a shell (a complete shell with articulated carapace and plastron; part of carapace surface damaged). Its type locality is Dashanpu Dinosaur Quarry [lower], which is in a Bajocian/Oxfordian lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Shaximiao Formation of China.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Dashanpu Dinosaur Quarry [lower]
