Taxonomy
Pecten (Patinopecten) kimurai matumoriensis was named by Nakamura (1940) [DISTRIBUTION: Mioene; Japan.]. It is not extant.

It was recombined as Patinopecten matumoriensis by Masuda (1956); it was recombined as Mizuhopecten matumoriensis by Ogasawara et al. (1985).
