It was assigned to Diastomidae by Cossmann (1894), Woods (1922), Abbass (1967); to Diastomatinae by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Diastomatidae by Wilson (1993), Harzhauser (2004), Bouchet et al. (2005).
