Taxonomy
Crucibulum waltonense was named by Gardner (1947) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Florida.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 371873, a shell. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 3742 - Mossyhead [Shoal River Fm], which is in a Serravallian marine marl/sandstone in the Shoal River Formation of Florida.

It was recombined as Crucibulum (Dispotaea) waltonense by Hendy et al. (2008).
