Trigoniocardia (Goniacardia) was named by Woodring (1982) [I originally assigned this name to Stewart (1930) for some reason. Described by Woodring (1982), p. 644 without a doubt!]. Its type is Cardium (Fragum) callopleurum.
It was reranked as Goniacardia by Sepkoski (2002).
It was assigned to Trigoniocardia by Woodring (1982) and Vokes (1989); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
