Asthenoscapter meini was named by Hutchison (1974). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UCBL FSL 69000, a mandible (anterior one-half of right dentary with p4 and alveoli of i1-m1).

cingular parastyle, large cingular protocone; M1-M3 with three longitudinally arrayed and weakly inflated lingual cusps, paracingula present, mesostyle weakly deft; M1-M2 with metacingula continuous with postcingula, broad postcingula forming distinct posterior projections; M3 lacks postcingulum, postmetacrista, and metacingulum; dentary with ascending ramal processes widely divergent, spicular angular process, symphysis extending posteriorly to level of p1-p2 juncture; i2-cl alveoli equally large and progressively more procumbent anteriorly; i1 alveolus nearly horizontal and somewhat smaller than i2 alveolus ; p1 with one or two roots; p3-p4 double-rooted; p4 with complete cingulum, weak cingular paraconid, broad heel ; m1-m3 with ecto-, pre- and postcingulids, entocingulids on trigonids, talonids and trigonids subequal in length, well developed metacristids and entocristids joining at higher level than trigonid valleys, open trigonids, major cusps decreasing in size from protoconid-hypoconid-metaconid-entoconid-(or =) paraconid, cristae obliquae terminating lingual to protocristid notches ; m1 crista obliqua more labial than in m2-m3; m3 lacks entostylid; clavicle long and slender, strongly oblique manubrial articular facet; humerus with proximal end narrower than distal, poorly differentiated trochlear processes, elliptical head laterally directed at about 40° to shaft axis, shaft elongate and only slightly arched, lesser tuberosity much smaller than greater tuberosity, shallow brachialis fossa, pectoral crest nearly st~aight and longitudinally aligned with shaft, bicipital canal open throughout, fossa for flexor digitorum profundus ligament weak and proximally situated, clavicular articular facet extending well above level of head, deltoid process undeveloped. |
