Taxonomy
Megaloolithus khempurensis was named by Mohabey (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is OGF/K-1 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Khempur, Kheda, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial limestone/sandstone in the Lameta Formation of India.
