Taxonomy
Pinnarctidion rayi was named by Berta (1994) [Emlong field number E72-26]. Its type specimen is USNM 314325, a skull (complete skull with dentition), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Big Creek, south, which is in a Burdigalian deltaic mudstone in the Nye Formation of Oregon.
