Taxonomy
Bavarioboa vaylatsae was named by Szyndlar and Rage (2003). Its type specimen is USTL, MPF 1102 (one trunk vertebra) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mas de Pauffié, which is in a MP 26 terrestrial horizon in France.
