Taxonomy
Kalosauropus pollex was named by Ellenberger (1970). Its type specimen is UM2 LES232, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Leribe tracksite, which is in a Pliensbachian terrestrial horizon in the Clarens Formation of Lesotho.
It was recombined as Otozoum pollex by Rainforth (2003); it was considered a nomen nudum by Nicosia and Loi (2003).
