Anoptychia oregonensis was named by Nützel et al. (2003). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UMIP 2.28353. Its type locality is Martin Bridge Limestone - Spring Creek locality, which is in a Lacian shallow subtidal grainstone/wackestone in the Martin Bridge Limestone Formation of Oregon.
