Taxonomy
Platyspondylia sudrei was named by Rage (1988). Its type specimen is USTL BRT 1345 (a mid-trunk vertebra) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Le Bretou, which is in a Bartonian karst phosphorite in France.
