Taxonomy
Vltaviella was named by Frýda and Manda (1997). It is the type genus of Vltaviellinae.
It was assigned to Platyceratidae by Frýda and Manda (1997); to Vltaviellidae by Bandel and Frýda (1999); and to Vltaviellinae by Frýda and Heidelberger (2003), Bouchet et al. (2005).
