Per Onary et al . 2021 [ref 83805] the type specimen cannot be located and plaster cast of type specimen is AMNH 3850
Taxonomy
Boavus idelmani was named by Gilmore (1938). Its type specimen is Private specimen of E. S. Weinberg, a skeleton (nearly complete articulated skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Fossil, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large shale in the Green River Formation of Wyoming.
