Taxonomy
Otozoum minus was named by Lull (1915). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is YPM 2046, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Horse Race Quarry, Gill, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial sandstone/shale in the Portland Formation of Massachusetts.
It was synonymized subjectively with Otozoum moodii by Rainforth (2003).
