Plicatula polymorpha was named by Bellardi (1854) [Synonyms: Ostrea symmetrica, Plicatula bellardii, Terebratella pyramidarum, Plicatula abundans, Plicatula bovensis, Plicatula pyramidarum, Plicatula malembaensis; Eocene of Eghyot, Priabonian of Italy]. It is not extant.
