Mandschurosaurus amurensis
Taxonomy
Trachodon amurense was named by Riabinin (1925). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Jiayin, which is in a Maastrichtian floodplain sandstone/mudstone in the Yuliangzi Formation of China.
It was recombined as Mandschurosaurus amurensis by Riabinin (1930), Gilmore (1933), Young (1935), Chow (1951), Yuryev (1954), Young (1958), Kobayashi (1959), Tatarinov (1964), Kuhn (1964), Rozhdestvensky (1977), Weishampel and Weishampel (1983), Matsukawa and Obata (1994), Norman and Sues (2000), Dong (2008), Wu et al. (2010), Sun et al. (2011); it was recombined as Manchurosaurus amurensis by Nagao (1936); it was misspelled as Manchurosaurus amurensis by Young (1944); it was considered a nomen dubium by Weishampel and Horner (1990), Godefroit (2000), Godefroit et al. (2000), Horner et al. (2004), Godefroit et al. (2011), Godefroit et al. (2012).
