Kentriodon obscurus
Taxonomy
Grypolithax obscura was named by Kellogg (1931). Its type specimen is CAS 4349, an other (periotic), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sharktooth Hill, which is in a Langhian shoreface siltstone in the Temblor Formation of California.
It was recombined as Kentriodon obscurus by Barnes and Mitchell (1984), Barnes (1985), Ichishima et al. (1995), Uhen et al. (2008), Peredo et al. (2018).
