Eoplatanista italica
Taxonomy
Eoplatanista italica was named by Dal Piaz (1916). Its type specimen is IGUP 26 153, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Libano, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Libano Sandstone Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Eoplatanista.
