Taxonomy
Cardium fornicatum was named by Sowerby (1840) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Cardium (Ctenocardia) fornicatum by Abrard (1947); it was recombined as Ctenocardia (Ctenocardia) fornicata by Hendy (2007).
