Taxonomy
Hyaenodon leptorhynchus was named by Laizer and Parieu (1838). Its type specimen is FSL 70000, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cournon, which is in a MP 28 terrestrial horizon in France.
