Taxonomy
Hyrachyus implicatus was named by Cope (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Washakie B (Lower), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Washakie Formation of Wyoming.
It was synonymized subjectively with Hyrachyus affinis by Troxell (1922); it was recombined as Ephyrachyus implicatus by Wood (1934); it was recombined as Triplopus implicatus by Radinsky (1967), McCarroll et al. (1996), Prothero (1998).
