It was recombined as Aphelops meridianus by Cope (1875), Dumble (1894), Hay (1902), Matthew (1918), Wilson (1956); it was considered a nomen dubium by Matthew (1932); it was recombined as Teleoceras meridianum by Prothero and Manning (1987), Prothero (2005).
