P. Edwards 1976Stibarus obtusilobus is the smallest of the leptochoerine species, less than two-thirds the size of S. quadricuspis, with a very weakly developed hypocone on the upper molars. The lingual apex of the triangular upper molars is sharper than the lingual apex of S. quadricuspis upper molars. The cingulum is developed only around the anterior end of the lower molars.
