Taxonomy
Sorex powersi was named by Hibbard and Bjork (1971). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hagerman (Gidley Horse Quarry), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Glenns Ferry Formation of Idaho.
