Ramoceros ramosus
Taxonomy
Cosoryx ramosus was named by Cope (1874). Its type specimen is USNM 1144, a partial skull (Three-pronged "antler."), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Dicrocerus ramosus by Cope (1875), Cope (1875); it was synonymized subjectively with Dicrocerus furcatus by Cope (1877); it was recombined as Merycodus ramosus by Hay (1902), Matthew (1904); it was synonymized subjectively with Merycodus furcatus by Gregory (1942); it was recombined as Ramoceros ramosus by Frick (1937), Janis and Manning (1998), May (2019).
