Petrustitan hungaricus
Taxonomy
Magyarosaurus hungaricus was named by Huene (1932). Its type specimen is NHMUK R.3853, a set of limb elements, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Szentpéterfalva, Hateg Basin, which is in a Maastrichtian fluvial sandstone in the Sînpetru Formation of Romania. It is the type species of Petrustitan.
It was recombined as Titanosaurus hungaricus by Steel (1970); it was synonymized subjectively with Magyarosaurus dacus by Le Loeuff (1993), Upchurch et al. (2004); it was recombined as Petrustitan hungaricus by Díez Díaz et al. (2025).
