Taxonomy
Cryptocoenia arduennensis was named by d'Orbigny (1850). Its type specimen is syntypes MNHN-F-A09463 to 64, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Stylina arduennensis by Edwards and Haime (1851), Milne-Edwards and Haime (1857).
