Taxonomy
Chelodina murrayi was named by Yates (2013). Its type specimen is NTM P5364, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alcoota Scientific Reserve, which is in a Miocene crevasse splay siltstone in the Waite Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Chelodina (Chelodina) murrayi by Shea et al. (2020).
