smooth, composed of 3 slightly convex whorls; long spire with convex whorls, separated by impressed sutures; whorls ornamented with straight or slightly concave forward axial ribs for which the strength, concavity and spacing increase in later ontogeny, varices present; convex last whorl with similar axial ribs, they disappear at base; base rounded, ornamented with spiral ridges and grooves; narrow elliptical aperture; open and grooved posterior canal extends along the spire, it terminates after crossing the apex; outer lip extended along the spire as margin of canal, finely plicated; inner lip also extended by the side of the canal, prominently calloused; columellar lip also calloused with fine plications; growth lines slightly concave forward on whorl sides, bend back at base. |
