Taxonomy
Dosinia subpenicillata was named by Vredenburg (1928) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Early Pliocene; India, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Dosina subpenicillata by Iqbal (1980); it was recombined as Dosinia (Dosinisca) subpenicillata by Borkar and Kulkarni (2019).
