It was recombined as Claenodon silberlingi by Simpson (1935), Simpson (1937); it was recombined as Colpoclaenus silberlingi by Van Valen (1978); it was synonymized subjectively with Claenodon montanensis by Rose (1981), Hartman (1986); it was synonymized subjectively with Arctocyonides montanensis by Novacek and Wyss (1986); it was synonymized subjectively with Arctocyon montanensis by Archibald et al. (1987), Williamson and Lucas (1993).
