Taxonomy
Miotylopus taylori was named by Prothero (1996). Its type specimen is F:AM 36459, a partial skeleton (male skull, mandible, atlas, and axis), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Willow Creek, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.
