Taxonomy
Michenia agatensis was named by Frick and Taylor (1971) [genotype]. Its type specimen is AMNH 14255, a partial skeleton (partial skull and mandible with i1/1-m3/3, both partial humeri, right radius and left partial radius, right scaphoid and lunar, distal end of metacarpus, two co), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Agate (5-7 Miles NE), which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Marsland Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Michenia.
