Kermackodon oxfordensis

Taxonomy

Eleutherodon oxfordensis was named by Kermack et al. (1998). Its type specimen is BDUC J.460, a tooth (upper molar), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirtlington 3p (Mammal Bed), which is in a Bathonian mire/swamp marl in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Kermackodon oxfordensis by Mao et al. (2022).

Synonyms

Millsodon superstes was named by Butler and Hooker (2005). Its type specimen is BMNH M46645, a tooth (a first right lower molariform (m1)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirtlington 3w(i), which is in a Bathonian mire/swamp marl in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Kermackodon oxfordensis by Mao et al. (2022).
Kirtlingtonia catenata was named by Butler and Hooker (2005). Its type specimen is BMNH M46497, a tooth (the crown of a right upper molar, probably unerupted), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirtlington 3p (Mammal Bed), which is in a Bathonian mire/swamp marl in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Kermackodon oxfordensis by Mao et al. (2022).
Kermackodon multicuspis was named by Butler and Hooker (2005). Its type specimen is BMNH M46822, a tooth (a left upper molar (M2)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirtlington 3p (Mammal Bed), which is in a Bathonian mire/swamp marl in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Kermackodon oxfordensis by Mao et al. (2022).
