Taxonomy
Hapalodectes paradux was named by Lopatin (2023). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 3104/775, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsagan Hushu [Naran Bulak Fm.] [PMPE], which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Naran Bulak Formation of Mongolia.
