Taxonomy
Cowheadia duplextesta was named by Won et al. (2007). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Geological Survey of Canada, GSC-125701, a test. Its type locality is Martin Point, Unit 42d, which is in a Tremadocian carbonate limestone in the Green Point Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Cowheadia.
