Diaphorocetus ortegai
Taxonomy
Diaphorocetus ortegai was named by Lambert et al. (2023) [urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:49F43A5D-ECEB-4D12-AC7A-67FE04881EF4]. Its type specimen is MUSM 3246, a partial skull (a partly complete cranium lacking the distal tip of the rostrum, lateral portions of the neurocranium (including most of the supraorbital processes and part of ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ullujaya, which is in a Burdigalian marine horizon in the Chilcatay Formation of Peru.
