Taxonomy
Omomys sheai was named by Gazin (1962). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is U.S.N.M. No. 22384, a mandible (right ramus of mandible with M2-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Barge, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial mudstone in the Wasatch Formation of Wyoming.
It was synonymized subjectively with Loveina zephyri by Gunnell and Rose (2002); it was recombined as Loveina sheai by Stucky (1984), Honey (1990), Muldoon and Gunnell (2002), Holroyd and Strait (2008).
