Taxonomy
Canis othmanii was named by Amri et al. (2017). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum of the National Office of Mines, Tunis, OS10-02, a partial skull. Its type locality is Wadi Sarrat, Mahjouba-Tejerouine Wetlands, which is in a Pleistocene mire/swamp conglomerate in Tunisia.
