Igai semkhu
Taxonomy
Igai semkhu was named by Gorscak et al. (2023) [Holotype—Vb-621–640, a closely associated partial postcranialskeleton consisting offive fragmentary dorsal vertebrae, partialleft coracoid, partial left ulna, three left metacarpals (I, IV, andV), the proximal part of the left pubis, both tibiae (a partial rightand the complete and well-documented but currently missing left,Vb-634), the leftfibula, and three metatarsals (left I, left and rightII). Numerous additional fragments of the specimen were appar-ently discovered (Fig. 1C) but were not described by previousauthors (Brinkmann and Buffetaut,1990; Wiechmann,1999a,1999b) and cannot be accounted for at present.]. Its type specimen is Vb-621–640, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Baris, Kharga Oasis, which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Quseir Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Igai.
