Taxonomy
Eostylocerus hezhengensis was named by Deng et al. (2014). Its type specimen is IVPP V 19059, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gaojiashan, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Liushu Formation of China.
