Taxonomy
Aligena cerritensis was named by Arnold (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Los Cerritos - Upper San Pedro Series [Palos Verdes Sand], which is in a Pleistocene coastal sandstone in the Palos Verdes Sand Formation of California.
