Huallasaurus australis
Taxonomy
Kritosaurus australis was named by Bonaparte et al. (1984). Its type specimen is MACN-PV 2, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Los Alamitos vertebrates, middle section, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian lacustrine - large siltstone/sandstone in the Los Alamitos Formation of Argentina.
It was synonymized subjectively with Secernosaurus koerneri by Prieto-Márquez (2010), Prieto-Marquez and Salinas (2010), Juárez Valieri et al. (2010), Coria (2014), Cruzado-Caballero (2016); it was recombined as Huallasaurus australis by Rozadilla et al. (2021).
It was synonymized subjectively with Secernosaurus koerneri by Prieto-Márquez (2010), Prieto-Marquez and Salinas (2010), Juárez Valieri et al. (2010), Coria (2014), Cruzado-Caballero (2016); it was recombined as Huallasaurus australis by Rozadilla et al. (2021).
