Carpodaptes cygneus

Taxonomy
Carpolestes cygneus was named by Russell (1967). Its type specimen is ROM 05622, a mandible (right dentary with p4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Swan Hills Site 1, which is in a Tiffanian fluvial-lacustrine shale/claystone in the Paskapoo Formation of Canada.

It was recombined as Carpocristes cygneus by Beard and Wang (1995); it was recombined as Carpodaptes cygneus by Rose (1975), Krause (1978), Gingerich (1980), Gingerich (1986), Bloch et al. (2001) and Fox (2002).
