Taxonomy
Carcinodon aquilonius was named by Russell (1974). Its type locality is Pine Cree Park, which is in a Danian terrestrial sandstone in the Ravenscrag Formation of Canada.
It was synonymized subjectively with Oxyprimus albertensis by Van Valen (1978).
