Kansius sternbergi
Taxonomy
Kansius sternbergi was named by Hussakof (1929). Its type specimen is SMM 25, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is One-half mile SW of Castle Rock, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Kansius.
