Taxonomy
Alphadon halleyi was named by Sahni (1972) [type is a left m1]. Its type specimen is AMNH 77367, a tooth (m1), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Clambank Hollow Quarry, which is in a Campanian/Campanian fine channel fill claystone in the Judith River Formation of Montana.
